It’s just a cup.
I love that look when Sherlock just realizes.
#It’s the nerves of steel bit that always gets me. #Because he says it #and there’s John looking completely innocent #in his jumper next to a police car #all tidy and non-assuming #And Sherlock can just look and know #’I just described John Watson. My new friend.’ #and there was no turning back at that point for either of them.
#literal favorite moment LOOK AT FUCKING JOHN WATSON #HE LOOKS LIKE A FUCKING MEERCAT OR SOMETHING #LIKE TRA LA LA NO WORRIES IN MY HEAD TRA LA LA #and sherlock just stares at him like he’s discovered something astounding and perfect

In case you feel like crying and smiling and sobbing alternatively before going to sleep, this is tonight’s post-Reichenbach Sherlock fic rec. My heart.
The sensation of falling as you just hit sleep
John doesn’t know how to tell Mycroft that he’d been slumped in his chair, gesticulating almost but not quite enough to spill his brandy; that Sherlock had been sprawled out in his opposite, giggling even though the story wasn’t ever that funny. He doesn’t know how to describe the faint firelit pink brushed over the tops of Sherlock’s cheeks, or the way John’s entire body had felt filled with a warmth so vast as to be boundless, as though his skin, the flat, the very world could not possibly contain him. John doesn’t know how to explain what it had meant to him when Sherlock had shifted one long leg over to rest his toes against the top of John’s bare foot.
Incredible post-Reichenbach WIP. Amazing in every way. Can’t even deal.
RUN DON’T WALK.

see that face?
thats the face of an old man who has traveled so long and so far that he pretty much forgot what a “family” was. he got Rose, he got Martha, he got Donna. they had to leave him, because they had to. but Amy and Rory? NOPE. those people made sure they stayed in his life, because Amy has known him all her life and calls him family. And Rory? He trusts the Doctor because the Doctor becomes his son-in-law, and because River becomes who she is because of him. “Family” to the Doctor is an unknown word. But at that moment, that perfect, brilliant moment on that cold, Christmas night on the Pond’s doorstep, the Doctor realised that he did have a family, but never knew it until Amy told him that they always have a place for him. ALWAYS.
see that face? that’s the face of a man who finally realised that the people that step into his life never leave him. thats the face of a man who didn’t think he was important, because he had to leave people behind when it got too dangerous.
that’s the face of man who has a home.
